Mailbag: 8/25/2003
Monday, August 25th, 2003

Welcome to the August edition of Xbox Central's mailbag where every month, we take our time to listen to our viewers and answer all of their questions.

Now onto the Q & A!

Q: Is Pro Evolution Soccer 3 coming out on Xbox?
from Elizabeth

A: Nope, Pro Evolution Soccer 3 will only be coming out for the PlayStation 2 Computer Entertainment System. If I remember correctly, it's from Sony. Because of that, it won't come to the Xbox, ever!
_______

Q: Hey, I would just like to know if any of you guys would be interested in a system spec document to further your "Next gaming console" topic thing? I have found this on other sites that are very trust worthy sites but nothing if final. I know Microsoft will pull out on top with the next Xbox and almost are with this one. The only one advantage Sony has is that they had a year head-start in the console war. And Nintendo, ha!T heir sales rate is only a little over 9 million with the Gamecube! Xbox is a little over 13 million. And Sony's number of units sold is 17 million.
from XboxMaster 55

A: Actually, Sony's number of units sold for the PlayStation 2 is about double the number you provided. Chances of Microsoft being on top in the next-generation of gaming are 50/50 since the PlayStation brand is so popular; especially with the Japanese. And nope, sorry, we only put official information on our website.
_______

Q: Hello. I would like to have some information about Xbox customized. The price and description. What are you located in Canada or U.S? I'm from the Toronto area. Thanks!
from Danny Lare

A: Xbox Central is a publication. We are not distributors, but you can buy an Xbox online through our affiliate, EB Games. Just click on the link to the left titled EB Games, and you won't have to do anything. They'll deliver to your doorstep.
_______

Q: Firstly, as an Xbox owner, I would like to congratulate you for your fantastic site. I am writing to you to ask you a question that you probably get thrown at you all the time( but I'm going to ask it anyway). I have had an idea for a game that in my opinion, which probably doesn't mean a lot, would be a great game. I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction as to what to do with it. If I could put it down on paper and let someone with experience see it, even to say it is rubbish, I would feel a lot better. Thanks for you help.
from Ally McDonald

A: Thank you for your feedback. We've replied to you with contacts of companies so you can directly send them your ideas.
_______

Q: I love video games especially ones that make you actually have to think about your next move. I've really enjoyed Metal Gear Solid and ofcourse like everyone else, Halo. But I have two questions, will Metal Gear Solid be released for Xbox, and is there a for sure release date on Halo 2? The wait is killing me!!!!
from TexanBioHazard

A: Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance has already been released for the Xbox video game console. The next game in the series, MGS3: Snake Eater, has only been confirmed for the PS2 at this point. We're hoping it ends up on the Xbox as well like MGS2, but who knows?
_______

Q: I just wanted to ask you when are you guys releasing Raven Shield. Im buying the new Ghost Recon, but I have seen the previews for Raven Shield, and it's definetly a must have.
from Francisco Medel

A: Ubi Soft will be releasing Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 sometime around November. It will not be called "Raven Shield" on the Xbox.
_______

Q: Could you give me information on joining your site as a staff member? I see you have a free place for a news updater? It's a good place to start, and I'm interested..
from Mike

A: Yup, yup. Please check your mailbox!
_______

Q: Hi, is there going to be a new release of Medal of Monor, if so when will this be released in the UK?
from Andy Smith

A: The next Medal of Honor game will be called "Medal of Honor: Rising Sun". The release date is currently set for this Autumn (of 2003 of course). As of now, there is no exact date set for the Xbox version, but we do know the PlayStation 2 version will ship on November 14th, 2003.
_______

Q: I won an X-Box system by purchasing a two liter of Mountain Dew according to the bottle cap. Could you please inform how to redeem my prize.
from Pennie

A: Congratulations on winning your new Xbox video game console. Here is how you can receive your prize according to the Mountain Dew official website:

TO CLAIM PRIZES BY MAIL: To submit a prize claim mail the entire potentially winning bottle cap or sticker game piece along with a 3 x 5 inch card printed with your name, complete street address and daytime phone number to “Dew/Hulk” Prize Claim. P.O. Box 1998, Young America, MN 55594-1998. All prize claims must be postmarked by September 2, 2003 and received by September 8, 2003. Allow 8-10 weeks from the date of submission is received for verification and delivery of prizes. All potentially winning bottle caps must be mailed in a small box or a padded envelope (available at your local post office) to meet Postal Service mailing requirements. Do not mail bottle caps in regular letter-style envelopes because the envelope may burst in transit and bottle caps may not be deliverable. Extra postage may be necessary; check with post office. It is recommended that game pieces for winning prizes be sent by Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested. Proof of mailing does not constitute proof of delivery and proof of delivery does not constitute proof of a winning submission. No responsibility is assumed for lost, late, delayed, postage due, misdirected or illegible mail or damaged, torn or separated mail due to improper packaging of bottle caps. The submission of a potentially winning game piece is the sole responsibility of the participant who assumes all risk of loss, damage, destruction, delay and misdirection of the prize claim.

Q: Is it possible to have the Xbox Live working in Australia by using an overseas CD? I have a client that is using an ADSL modem through Big pond and is having problems connecting and playing at times. Any advice would be most welcome.
