Bloody Roar Extreme
Thursday, August 28th, 2003

Konami of Europe will bring one of the most popular and enduring fighting franchises to a new format in November, as Bloody Roar Extreme is released for the XboxTM video game system from Microsoft.

Created by Hudson Soft and featuring characters from the existing Bloody Roar games, Bloody Roar Extreme is a visually stunning combat title that stars a host of combatants with the unusual ability to transform into a series of animal alter-egos. The game is played in a number of 3D arenas, wherein a host of one-on-one fights take place. Controlling their fighter, the player must use the many punches, kicks and throws on offer to KO their opponent – and charging up a special power bar to activate their morphing abilities to change into their 'Hyper-beast' personas, wherein a secondary set of moves and attacks are offered to make the most of the skills the creatures offer.

Bloody Roar Extreme offers 16 fierce fighters, who take each on within 10 fully interactive stages. As such, as the creatures – which include classic beasts such as the Phoenix and Chimera, and savage beasts including Tigers, Wolves and Lions – lay into each, the levels show visible damage as the various throws and charges weaken structures within each. Adding to the excitement are seven game modes to challenge event the hardiest beast as they get to grips with the combination attacks, counter moves and blocks that Bloody Roar Extreme's intuitive control system offers.

Boasting some of the most impressive in-game graphics to grace the Xbox and a number of hidden modes to unlock – including a new character exclusive to the Xbox format – Bloody Roar Extreme is a welcome addition to this popular fighting series. The battle begins in November – and anything goes...

Bloody Roar Extreme will be released for Xbox in November, 2003.
