Men of Valor: Vietnam is a first person shooter, based on the Vietnam war and developed by 2015, the producers of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. You play as a US Marine, from the start of the conflict until the Tet offensive, through a historically accurate campaign, with many missions based on actual events in the war. You will not only fight as infantry, but be a gunner on a helicopter, drive boats and vehicles and direct artillery fire, in POW and pilot rescue, recon and search and destroy missions.
Just like Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Men of Valor: Vietnam qill be full of scripted events, such as helicopter raids and ambushes, making the game even more realistic. The Vietnamese jungle has been stuningly recreated using the Unreal engine, and looks stunning. Combat will take place in the jungle, caves, airbases, towns and fields, all affecting your tactics, and the tactics of the AI. The VC fighters will hopefully have some interesting AI, recreating their dedication and unconventional tactics. What has been promised is responsive enemy AI, which assesses your actions and responds with tactical inteligence. You will be supported by AI controlled team-mates. Once these are killed, they cannot be used for the rest of the game, so they need to be supported. Authentic weapons, such as the M16A1 assault rifle, M79 Grenade Launcher, M21 sniper rifle and M60 machine gun for the US, and the Russian manufactured AK47 and RPG rocket launchers for the VC guerillas will be in the game, and will function realisticly. All the vehicles and uniforms will also be historically accurate.
The game will support 4 player Co-Operative play for the whole campaign via Xbox Live! and also objective-based multi-player, where players can play as a US Marine, or a VC or North Vietnamese Army Guerilla. One team may have to capture a bunker or ambush a convoy, and the other team has to defend the objective. Standard death-match and maybe capture the flag modes are likely to be included as well.
Considering the development team behind this, the chances of it turning of badly are slim to none. Men of Valor: Vietnam should be hitting the PC and Xbox some time in mid 2004.
