Game Info
NHL 2K3 had the potential from the beginning to be a winner. It’s the official National Hockey League title for all consoles. The Xbox version has outstanding graphics. The replays are extremely realistic to watch and even at times can be quite humorous. The games commentating are based on ESPN. With the use of ESPN it visualises natural camera angles and swift cut scenes. Everything you see on the ice is presented ESPN style.

The game has System-Link play, (1-4 players), Xbox Live capability and downloadable content (rosters for teams). The multiplayer via system link is quiet fun and just when you can’t beat that team, you invite friends over and you all play on the same team. NHL 2K3 isn’t one of the most popular titles on Xbox Live; it lacks the people to play. Chances of finding a game aren’t at high stakes.

The gameplay is a one of a kind. When creating your own roster/team. There is an absolute huge amount of stats to edit. It also takes your size and stats into consideration. For example, if you gave one of your member’s full speed and made his height and weight huge, he’d move slow, but if you made his height and weight small he’d be the fastest guy on the ice.

NHL 2K3 has a lot of different game modes. And each teams rank comes from last years hockey league. The game doesn’t have much playing time. Once you’ve made your own team and fiddled around against the AI teams. You slowly get bored. If you and three other friends have it, it can turn out to be quite a team game and may get you playing seriously in the last 5 minutes of the game. Most the difficulties are far to easy, even on the hardest difficulty. If you pass the puck around enough you’ll eventually break the goalies defence.

In conclusion, the game is awesome fun for the first month or so. The multiplayer is great if you have 3 friends over. But there was still room for improvement. None-the-less, if you’re a hockey fanatic. Get this title. It’s
