Game Info
At first glance Crimson Sea sounds like a game that would involve boats, water, submarines, sea warfare. this isn't the case. THQ have designed a fantastic RPG game set in the future, involving a species called Mutons.

You are Sho, a young man who can fight like a god, has no fear, but can't remember his past. He's setting out to discover what happened to his family, and the his past which no body seems to know about.

You are part of what's called the G-Squad. You are accompanied by your group which contains a few elite members each different in size, weight, height, looks and personality. Each uses a different gun and you are able to restore their health if there low on energy.

Crimson Sea is set in the future with an interesting story line, that's sure to keep the avid gamer entertained and filled with curiosity. The main character, Sho had his history wiped and can't recall his parents, family or any part of his life as a child. He journey's on to find out what happened and who his parents were. Unfortunately for him, there's a catch.

The game includes a large number of characters all of which play an important part in the game. As you progress through the adventure more characters come in to either help you discover your destiny and unlock your past, or make life worse for you. You board a large ship which seems to be floating around space, here you can buy weapons, health packs, or train and get money to buy the equipment you need to get ready for your next adventure.

The weapons include a wide variation from pistols to weaponry similar to rocket launchers. Each weapon is useful against a certain type of enemy, but it's better to stick with the one weapon then changing 5 - 6 times in one quest. Almost every gun has an inbuilt sword. The sword is designed for close combat. It's your best choice to use when fighting enemies up close. The sword actions look realistic and you can either slice once or complete a combo. It is also possible to jump off the ground and slice in mid air.

Each weapon has different different levels and experience points. The more you use a gun the more experience the points it gets which means it raises a level and becomes more powerful. Each gun also has different versions of itself, for example: Gun I, Gun II and Gun III. Each version has levels and experience points also.

After each quest you receive a cutscene, each reveals interesting information and clues about Sho's life. You are then placed back onto the ship, ready to either, buy the equipment you need, train your skills to get money, find out information by chatting to people or deciding your off onto your next mission.

The graphics are extremely delightful to look at it in the cutscenes, not so much in the gameplay. The gameplay is exceptionally good when you get use to the camera angle, it's a bit hard at first but after a little bit of practice it becomes normal. Lighting and Shadow has been used but it hasn't been taken into consideration to deeply. The option to play as other characters would have been a good asset.

If your into RPG games with boss' at the end, this game is definitely for you! I would say you should at least rent it though it's definitely worth your money.
